Vehicle electrification is the key technology for decarbonizing road transport, a sector that accounts for over 15% of CO2 emissions worldwide. The electric battery is an essential component of all electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs).
Lithium-ion technology is currently used in electric vehicle batteries (as well as in most portable consumer electronics). However, numerous research projects are currently underway to improve battery autonomy, service life and recharge time, and to reduce the risks associated with thermal management.
The materials used in electric batteries are many and varied, and most of them are recyclable.
In this sector, Dorey Converting Systems has developed, in close collaboration with battery manufacturers, expertise in lamination, rotary cutting, laser cutting and ablation for the mass production of electrodes (anode, cathode and separator), current collector plates, long flexible flat cables (FFC) and parts dedicated to thermal management.
Dorey Converting Systems’ rotary die-cutting and laminating machines enable continuous, reliable mass production of your electrodes, cells and single or multilayer components. They are capable of achieving the highest tolerance levels (up to +/- 25µm) of your most demanding specifications.
